Aspire in Armonk
This collaborative project was created with students at Crittenden Middle School. Student drawings and clay models were first synthesized into a tower of figures. Then a welded steel armature covered in Styrofoam was carved to reflect the image of cooperation. Students helped apply the top layers of Fiberglas-reinforced cement. In 2016 the sculpture was refurbished and given a graphite finish. To see how Aspire has become part of school culture, view my News video feature.
